Chittlehamholt Village hall was built in the early 80s and is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. Many projects are complete and many more are under way to modernise the hall and its facilities. The new committee are very keen to promote the hall and its use to as wide an audience as possible. Please contact any committee member if you would like to discuss one off or regular hirings either by phone/e-mail or by using the enquiry form on the website.
There is easy disabled access to the hall from the car park via a disabled ramp, with disabled toilet, ladies and gents in the main foyer.
Chittlehamholt village hall is situated between the Exeter Inn (16th Century thatched inn) found in the middle of the village and the High Bullen Hotel to the South. The hall is situated opposite the village shop which opens daily in the mornings 9-1pm and afternoons 3-6pm. The shop has an extensive array of goodies from fresh foods, fresh and frozen meats and local produce.
The car park which is extensive can accommodate approximately 60+ vehicles and is adjacent to the hall. Opposite the hall over the lane, you will find the playing field which is very well equipped with children’s play equipment including a zip wire, swings and small climbing wall, a large cricket pitch and space for families and children to enjoy the facilities and breathtaking views. Please go the map for more information and directions.
Chittlehamholt Village hall is said to have the best wooden dance floor in North Devon. We have regular dances with Ben as well as a summer and Christmas ball. Weekly dance classes have proved very popular and are held on Wednesday evenings with Lynne and Jeff – please see the calendar for more information.
The hall has a very well equipped kitchen and is regularly used for ‘BIG BREAKFASTS’, parties and the monthly lunch club (please see calendar for more information). We have seating for at least 120 people (18 tables with chairs) and can accommodate 250 standing.
There is a committee room which can be hired for smaller meetings if required rather than the main hall (please see booking form for more information).
The hall has a large stage at the far end (piano available) which is currently undergoing complete refurbishment. In the near future we hope to attract various artists/musicians to the hall to further enhance its use.
Also available is a table tennis table and table football as well as other sports equipment.
If you would like any further information then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
